We live just south of Salem, Illinois, about 70 miles due east of St. Louis.
I've done a lot of remodeling work, particularly in a huge church addition job that took us months to do. But that's the kind of thing I like to do, get involved and use my hands.
It has been good here, getting the wiring taken care of for them, and I hope we can get a lot more done in a few days.
This is our first time to Haiti. We’ll probably be changed people by the time we go home.
Like in the states, there are “the haves and the have nots,” but as I see it, here there are a lot of the “have nots.”
I’m glad I can use my skills here in Haiti. I've completely wired at least seven homes from the ground up. So I've had a lot of experience with that stuff. It's great to just get in there and get the job done.
