Djiouly wants to learn to read and write. In Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, not every child has the opportunity to receive an education. At One Mission Society, we offer these children hope for the future through child sponsorship. SHEEP (Southern Haiti Evangelism and Education Program) works directly with the established Emmaus Fellowship of Churches in the Port-au-Prince area to come alongside these children and assist with school fees. Not only does sponsorship provide a means of education, but the children also learn the Good News of Jesus at a Christian school through Bible study, prayer, and worship.
As a child sponsor, you will receive a photo and personal information about your student. You have the opportunity to pray for the child’s spiritual, physical, social, and educational needs as well as encourage your child through correspondence. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Imagine giving Djiouly not only the education she desires but a chance to hear the Good News of Jesus. Child sponsorship is $25 monthly or $300 annually which covers the cost of tuition, books, and supplies.
At One Mission Society, we deeply care about the children attending school at College mixte Evangelique de Gressier. In this poverty stricken area, due to lack of nutrition, some children cannot focus on their studies during the school day. To help combat hunger, the children can receive one hot meal during the school day through our feeding program. For approximately 49 cents a day, Djiouly could enjoy a plate of rice and beans or a hot sandwich.
To partner with us and become a child sponsor, simply contact our office at email@example.com or (317) 881-6752 and request a child. We will assign you a student and send a packet of information along with a response tool for you to use in submitting your gift. You can also be specific in requesting gender or grade level of the student. To make responding easier, visit our website at https://onemissionsociety.org/give/SHEEP.
