New MFM Colombia Prayer Champion Sharing the Gospel in the streets of Cartagena, Colombia, I asked myself, “How did I find myself here?”
I'm just an ordinary guy who grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I spent twenty-one years in the Air Force, and after retiring, we settled in the suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky.
Two years ago a close friend and One Mission Society missionary Willie Hochhalter challenged me to go on my first evangelism trip to Medellin, Colombia, led by Doug and Cindy Tankersley. I was told that trips like this would change me, and it definitely did. When sharing the Gospel, I felt the joy of knowing that I was in the center of God’s will, and I got the sense of His good pleasure with it. When I returned home, my mind was filled with the faces of the people we shared with, and my heart was stirred to pray for them and the many who still need to hear the Good News! As soon as I returned home, I knew I wanted to go back again. In July, my wife and I went together to Cartagena, Colombia. While there, I was told of an opportunity to become the Prayer Champion for Colombia. I remembered Cindy Tankersley quoting the MFM pledge, "I will Do whatever God asks me to Do; I will Go wherever God asks me to Go; I will Give whatever God asks me to Give." Now I feel God wants to stretch my faith in Him again, and I humbly submit to Him. God is doing great things in Colombia and throughout Latin America. The need for prayer is great.
Please join me in intercessory prayer for the Men for Missions teams in Colombia, with Satura Colombia, and the furtherance of His kingdom!
