Update from Warren
Warren - "My son, observe the commandment of your father, and do not forsake the teaching of your mother; bind them continually on your heart; tie them around your neck. When you walk about, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk to you. For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching is light; and reproofs for discipline are the way of life." (Proverbs 6:20-23)
The above Scripture spoke to me this week. I am continually amazed at the freshness of God’s Word and am convinced it should be our top priority to be marinated in God’s Word.
Kent and Doug and Cindy Tankersley cancelled our trip to Cuba this week due to Hurricane Irma. I cancelled due to Velma’s unrelenting vertigo. The MRI that Velma had yesterday showed there had been no strokes and no evidence of tumors. However, there is a disconnect between her brain and balance system. Our next step in treatment is vestibular rehabilitation in the next few weeks.
Bill and Keith are working to cancel flights and reschedule our teams coming out of Haiti. We have had no word from Cuba that I know of, except our friends there ask for prayer and say they are preparing for a disaster. We ask for prayer for Haiti and all of the Caribbean.
Our friends in Texas also need our help. Bill Evans is on a committee as OMS prepares to be involved with disaster relief. Hurricane Irma is now dominating the news and the disaster from Hurricane Harvey is still a very real things.
In all of the storms and earthquakes, may God’s love be shown by those of us who know and serve Him.
Velma and I can never thank you enough for your care of us. We stand and serve by the grace of God and in the strength of your prayers.
A prisoner of Hope,
