The Miner Things of Life - June
Mike - The Miner Things of Life - June: I’m not generically a fan of meetings. I know they are necessary; I’d just rather be doing more than planning or reporting. I have two exceptions to this disinclination: First, if the meeting includes eating or second, if it’s getting together with the MFM guys. In which case, food is always involved! I had a great time at staff meetings last month, hearing ministry reports, planning with the team and enjoying the fellowship of being together with the 6 other Regional Directors and staff at Headquarters.
MFM Regional Directors
One of my highlights was being able to share about the high school team that participated in Homes for Haiti over spring break. It is my great joy to lead a group of teens and watch them experience a life-changing journey as they spend a week in Port-au-Prince working, sharing, praying, crying, giving and loving others and Jesus. I love to hear their stories of how God changes their perspective and hearts giving them a renewed passion to serve Him as they leave high school. I’m already looking forward to next year!
H4H Team Home Dedication
Another bright spot was hearing about the amazing things God is doing around the world through short-term missions. This was evidenced by the statistics shared at the close of our meeting. Through the end of May, in this year alone, 31 teams, made up of 269 individuals, have gone to 10 countries holding medical clinics, working, evangelizing and praying. Hallelujah!
Please pray for Ann and me as we leave for Kiev, Ukraine in mid-July. God has opened the door for us to participate in the English Summer Camps held every year in July and August. This is a vision trip and we hope to build teams from local churches to go in the coming years.
We are so very thankful for the opportunities we’ve had the last couple of months to share in churches about how God is working through short term missions. It’s also been a special time to celebrate Joshua’s graduation from East Linn Christian Academy as the class Salutatorian. He plans on attending Grand Canyon University this fall.
The Minor Miners — Summertime, and the Livin’ is Easy...
Jessica: Picking lots of fresh seasonal produce and trying new recipes. YUM!
Joshua: Long summer nights spent with friends and family.
Natalie: Babysitting my favorite girlies, time with friends and NO SCHOOL.
Proud of this guy!
