Update from UK National Director Robin Sloss - “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalms 27:1, 14

As we have the first month of another year already gone into Eternity, the pace of life is just getting faster and faster. January used to feel like the longest month in the calendar, but now it’s just as short as any other, (maybe I’m just getting older) or does every one else think the same?

I read this Psalm the other day in my daily readings and thought we as God’s children do not rely on His Hand in these days, but indeed take Him for granted in a way.

On the 31st January Audrey and I were travelling home from a service late at night when the heavy rain turned into snow, and a few hours later there was approximately one inch lying on the ground. What a great God we have who can turn rain into snow and make it lie on wet ground.

Indeed this Psalm of David’s tells us that OUR LORD gives us help for today and hope for the future. Don’t let us try to go in front of Him, but let our God guide us in the pathway of life. I (we) have to learn to ‘wait’, be still in His presence and as we wait on Him; we will see our LORD do wonderful things in our lives.

“Great eagles fly alone; great lions hunt alone; great saints walk alone - with God.” Leonard Ravenhill

Let us wait on God, and walk and talk with Him as we move forward into 2014.

•For good services that I have taken over the past month
•For safety as we have travelled in the month of January
