"plan ahead for a replacement"

By Ed Anderson Men for Missions Colombia Prayer Champion

Ed Anderson
As one of the first MFM Prayer Champions, Ed Anderson has faithfully led prayer warriors focused on the field of Colombia.
It has been very rewarding over the past six years to serve as MFM Colombia Prayer Champion. Everyone, including missionaries, needs encouragement each day to have the backing and confidence that God is close to protect and prosper each ministry through hard and often discouraging times.

It has been my privilege to visit and closely work with our Colombian church leaders and missionaries to see the work of the Lord being done.

As I have coordinated and worked with the 280 prayer warriors praying over the ministries in Colombia, God has heard, blessed, and advanced His kingdom.

The elementary schools and high schools have felt God's blessings. The sports ministries led by Mark Wittig have seen God's hand strengthening the coaches and their families. God has provided encouragement and funds for the soccer stadium and the operation of the leagues formed from the kids of the street that find Christ as they play.

The prison ministry has expanded to other prisons. Former prisoners are graduating from the seminary. The training was started by missionary Jeannine Brabon. Released prisoners have started more than 600 house churches throughout the territory.

The health and healing of many missionaries and Colombians have been the result of the faithful prayers of many prayer warriors.

We have prayerfully undergirded the work of visiting Men for Missions evangelism and work teams throughout Colombia. God's hand is at work as He brings about His miracles, and we hear of the answers He provides when we call out in prayer.

Former Men for Missions Prayer Initiative Director Dick McLeish coordinated meetings that brought many Country Prayer Champions together. We shared about each of the countries' outreaches and felt the heartbeat of compassion for the lost. Dick encouraged each of us, "plan ahead for a replacement."

I am happy to see that Brian McNulty has stepped up to continue this ministry of prayer for the country of Colombia. Brian has a heart for the Lord, prayer, and for the people of Colombia. With God's help, I'm sure Brian will keep the prayer needs of Colombia before our team of prayer warriors.
