Mike - The Miner Things of Life - June

As our evangelism team of eleven arrived back home from Colombia nearly three months ago, we marveled at all the amazing works God had done and the many new believers that responded to the Holy Spirit’s call during those four days of sharing the Gospel. The harvest for souls was ripe, and we were excited as we knew more teams were coming in the future months to share in different regions of that beautiful country.

Well, unfortunately, that was then, and this is now. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that our evangelism trip would be the last team to Colombia for a very long time. Never did any of us at Men For Missions ever realize that three short months ago, a coronavirus would prevent us from boarding any planes at all for overseas trips at least through the end of July, and potentially beyond.

As disappointing as this is for each of us at OMS and MFM, and as difficult as it is to try to understand why this is all happening, we take comfort in knowing our God is in control, and He reminds us of this in His Word. Isaiah 55:8-9 says:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

We know for certain God has a plan for us and we are excited as we think about what the ‘new’ future of short term mission trips will look like. In our bimonthly Zoom meetings, we focus on prayer and look for ways to grow in our ministry opportunities next door and around the world. We are also very excited as we have the opportunity to all be together in mid-August for staff training and meetings. Thank you for all the prayers, support, and encouragement. Now more than ever, let us encourage one another in love. (Hebrews 10:24-25)

The Minor Miners — Expanded Edition

Since Covid 19 has pretty much wiped out any trips and speaking opportunities that I’ve had scheduled, let me update you briefly about my all-time favorite mission team, my amazing family. Natalie, our youngest, graduated from high school this June. Although not the senior year she had hoped for, we are so very proud of her. She begins classes at Linn Benton Community College this fall.

Mike, Natalie, Ann
We are privileged to have Joshua home from college this summer. He graduates in December from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and will pursue a doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Josh, Natalie, Jessica
Our sweet Jessica continues her Dental Assistant/Office Manager work at a local clinic. Ann continues to love what she does as middle/high school secretary at East Linn Christian Academy, and I am just around the corner from cutting and harvesting our ryegrass and fescue seed crops. We thank the Lord each day for His provisions in our lives and without a doubt, for each of you.

Special Points of Prayer

  • Wisdom for MFM future/leadership
  • Revival across this land — Peace & Healing
  • Safe & Productive harvest
  • Sharing in Eastern Oregon next month
  • Prayer & financial supporters
  • Opportunities to share
  • Protection & provision for my family

Once again, we just want to express our thanks and appreciation to you for the investments you have made in this ministry by your prayers and financial giving. We appreciate you so very much, especially during these challenging times we are facing. Thankfully, we do not face them alone. Praise the Lord He walks with us and provides us with all our daily needs. Again, we thank you for your partnership with us in this amazing, life-changing ministry!

For His Eternal Glory,

Mike and Ann
