This morning I am stuck in the freshness of Proverbs 3 — The Rewards of Wisdom:

vs.1-3 Keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life.

vs.7-8 Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.

vs.13 How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding.

vs.19 The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He established the heavens.

These verses are so rich, I cannot understand why everyone in the world would not want to be a Christian.

One of my promises to Velma is to straighten up the sun room from where there might be the possibility of a book or books birthed. I have reduced the piles of papers and periodicals from 14 to nine. However, I am not counting the three piles on chairs around the table.

Yesterday, I went through 30 plus years of outlines and notes I have used in speaking. There are kind notes from people, like one from Rebecca, alias Giggles the Clown, that made my eyes sweat. Her note caused me to relive being in Russia with her and others on the team. These are friends who have blessed me and countless others around the world.

Today, Velma blessed me with homemade biscuits for breakfast. Quarantine is not all bad. In fact, I am kind of enjoying it. I am reading a few hundred more pages of notes with accounts of God’s great love for the world. However, I first read five chapters of Psalms and Proverbs. I notice that a lot of people are reading and commenting on Psalm 91 these days.

God’s Word gives us strength for today and the future, however long that may be. Let’s tell everyone we can, anyway we can about Jesus. He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.

We stand and serve by the grace of God and in the strength of your prayers.
