Ambassadors: When I became International Executive Director of Men for Missions, I decided to use Colossians as my guide. Paul wrote simply incredible truths to the church in Colossae. We have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. So that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. (Col. 1:9-10)

And, Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. (Col. 1:27-28)

I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good discipline and the stability of your faith in Christ. As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him. (Col. 2:5b-6)

And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Col. 3:12)

And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you. With all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the father. (Col. 3:14-17)

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men. (Col. 3:23)

Several years ago I was listening to one of my heroes, Stanley Tam, speak about witnessing and sharing Christ with those he met. Somewhere in the conversation the number 1 million came up, and I thought that would be a good goal for my life to tell 1 million people how I got saved. Approximately five years ago, I determined I had witnessed to 1 million people by giving my testimony in 46 countries, several states in the United States, and across Canada.

Recently, in church one Sunday morning, this voice came to me with a question, “Can you trust me for another million?” I don’t know how that is going to happen! However, I am going to trust Him for that, and will you help me? There is a clear outline on how we witness and share our faith in Colossians 4:5-6, Conduct yourselves with Wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned, as it were, with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.

To only read a short devotional, say a quick prayer, and head out the door to face our society is like backing out of the garage with your car’s check engine light on. I want to encourage you to be marinated in God’s Word and pray for God to use you every morning by following the directions that Paul has laid out in Colossians 4:5-6. Will you join me as an ambassador for Jesus Christ and MFM with the goal of telling everyone you can how you got saved, how your life was before Christ, and how you invited Christ into your life by asking for forgiveness of your sins and what your life is like now? May he give you courage and wisdom to be His ambassador. Let’s tell the whole world!!

We stand and serve by the grace of God and in the strength of your prayers.

A prisoner of Hope,
